View looking northeast at #1 high service pumping engine built in 1900 by Henry R. Worthington Hydraulic Works. The engine is a direct-acting, horizontal, triple expansion, condensing engine with a pumping capacity of 3-4mgd. Engine was in service until mid-1970’s and on stand-by until August 1980. Doors behind engine lead to filter room.
